He Anoints my Head With Oil
Watercolour 16x20 unframed $150
From Psalm 23 the movement of the oil cruise signifies the anointing process. Since the Psalm was written by David who was a king, thus the crown.
Rod and Staff
Psalm 23:4 "Your rod and your staff they comfort me"
This busy picture portrays what this verse says to me. The comfort of the Word of God, the Dove represents the Holy Spirit who is our Comforter, and the safety of the sheep fence.
Sheep Flock
Psalm 23 is written by David the shepherd who knew a lot about sheep. He writes knowing how like sheep we can be at times and need to know the Great Shepherd.
All The Days of my Life
Psalm 23 says "Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life."
Beside Still Waters
Painted on site at Sooke Potholes.
Psalm 23 says" He leads me beside Still Waters"
In our busy lives, we need the still moments.
Paths Of Righteousness
From the Series of Psalm 23, this part reads. "He leads me in the paths of Righteousness for His Name's sake".
This idea took a while to develop as I wanted to paint more than one path and vision more than one way of life. The two figures stand for the fact that we don't walk alone in life but He is walking with us. We walk into the unknown many times but always in the light that we are given. The colours of this picture mean to me that there is life and action and adventure and although it may seem unknown, there is a unity as the background shows a unity in all-over colour pattern.
